Welcoming Spring
Hello from last week, before I ventured off the grid to be in ceremony and celebration of the land’s fertile return.
This song opens with short plucked strings like the first shoots of young plants emerging from soil. Then come long and luscious chords from bows over strings, like the feeling that warmer weather is here for a while. Gentle non-binary voices sing.
Welcome the spring, the summer rain
Softly turned to sing again
Welcome the bud, the summer blooming flower
Welcome the child whose hand I hold
Welcome to you both young and old
We are ever new, we are ever new
Happy Beltane, happy May Day, hopeful reprieve, hopeful slowness.
I hope you can hold some dirt in your hands this week and exalt in the access ecologies that keep us trained on more accessible tomorrows.
I’m back online in 2 weeks.
